Global Chinese Press-The 11th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention was opened in Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Center on October 6. More than 4,000 Chinese entrepreneur leaders from over 30 countries and regions around the world showed presence. Sponsored by the Chinese Geneal Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, the theme of the convention is "New Global Environment, New Chinese Entrepreneurs and New Impetus". Jan Liang, President of CESC, led a 16-member delegation to attend the convention.

The Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong delivered a speech in the opening ceremony. In his speech, he said that the World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention is a forum for Chinese entrepreneurs from all over the world to strengthen economic cooperation and boost mutual understanding. It is a big event for overseas Chinese. On behalf of Singapore government, he extended warm welcome to all participants and wished the success of the convention.
He said that the first convention was convened in Singapore in 1991. After that, the convention was held in many other countries and regions for nine times. After 20 years, the convention was held by the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Singapore for the second time. This is not only a perfect end, but also the start of a new journey.
He pointed out that great changes have taken place in the global economic pattern during the past 20 years since 1991. The rise of the Asian economy, the rapid development of China, India, constantly shifts the center of the global economy to Asia, and brings Chinese enterprises bigger and wider space. This is a new pattern that is full of new challenges and new opportunities. He hopes Chinese entrepreneurs around the world could properly respond to the new situation, achieve greater development, and become the new impetus for the global economic development.
Huang Mengfu, Vice Chairman of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech. He fully affirmed the Chinese entrepreneurs’ contribution to the economic development of China, and introduced the new situation. He expected Chinese entrepreneurs to make correct judgment on the economic growth trends, grasp business opportunities and realize greater development.
The 2-day convention will host many forums. It will also host may large-scale exhibition closed related to the modern life, such as innovative technologies, wealth management, elite education and livable cities.
Jan Liang, President of CESC said that the convention is a big event for Chinese entrepreneurs from all over the world. It provides the best platform for Chinese entrepreneurs to conduct business cooperation and cultural exchanges, so it is of great historic importance. The delegation from CESC learned a lot of experience from the convention, obtained opportunities to exchange ideas with representative from business circles of the world, got acquainted with many Chinese entrepreneurs from other countries, and established initial intentions in some technology, telecommunications, medical equipment, culture and education projects. She expected members of CESC could be united as one, actively play its role and prepare for the next convention.
